Abstract
The competence of cognitive independence implies the formation of cognitive skills of students' independent work, which allows students to effectively organise the learning process and decide their own educational trajectory, to solve educational and self-educational problems, to link and use separate parts of knowledge, to benefit from educational experience, to take responsibility for the education received.
