Abstract
The problem of methodological issues in the study of chemistry at the university is actualized; the methodological and didactic aspects of teaching are considered. The objectives of the research are: the genesis of chemical knowledge in the unity of historical and logical methods in the aspect of the development of its conceptual systems, because the formation of the scientific methodology of this knwledge is impossible without its historical reconstruction; the development of didactic methods that determine the strengthening of methodological component in the formation of the necessary competencies in the process of teaching chemistry. All problems are considered in the metatheoretical aspect associated with the formation of a chemical picture of the world. It is emphasized that without solving these issues, it is impossible to further develop not only chemistry, but also science as a whole.
