Abstract

The article presents an attempt to build a family life cycle in Azerbaijan based on P. K. Glick's demographic approach based on statistical data in 1993, 2003, 2013 and 2023. The average age of first marriage for men and women, the average age of the mother at birth, and life expectancy became the basis for building the family life cycle. A table has been constructed reflecting the dynamics of the stages of the family life cycle during the period of Azerbaijan's independence. The analysis revealed trends in increasing the age of marriage, shortening the reproductive period, lengthening the socializing stage, as well as the prevalence of aging female loneliness. In conclusion, the limitations of the P. K. Glick model in modern conditions are outlined, and the prospects for its development include remarriages, divorces, and differences between urban and rural populations.
