The scientific journal is formed and actively develops in the concept of the scientific school on the implementation of career-oriented learning process. The history of publications includes the results of interdisciplinary pedagogical problem-oriented research of the current state of professional pedagogical education in Russia, carried out from the positions of modern pedagogy, philosophy, cultural studies, history and management. The journal discusses the theory and practice of modernization of domestic and foreign professional education, educational technologies, issues of continuing professional education, digital educational environments. Special attention is paid to the problems of training of teaching and research staff in postgraduate and doctoral studies, professional development of teachers.
The main purpose of the journal is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of specialist training in accordance with the strategic directions to ensure a unified state policy in the field of state certification of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel and the development of university science in the North-West region of the Russian Federation. The journal as a part of the Russian scientific and information system participates in solving the following tasks:
- forming the scientific component of the university environment and revealing the scientific potential of innovative educational technologies;
- propaganda of the results of research, scientific, practical and experimental innovative activity of postgraduate students, doctoral students and applicants in the field of professional education, training in the system of continuous professional education (pedagogical, engineering, maritime, economic, military, etc.);
- organization of open scientific polemics, contributing to the improvement of the quality of dissertation research, efficiency of expert examination of scientific works;
- highlighting new scientific results of significant importance in various fields of pedagogical and psychological sciences.
