Abstract
The article examines the social and pedagogical problem of communication in a technical university. It reveals the essence and content of the concept of "communication". It shows the role and significance of communication in the pedagogical activity of the faculty of a technical university during the training of future engineers. The focus is on the culture of speech of the faculty and its structure is revealed. An attempt is made to integrate social and humanitarian disciplines into the "technical environment" of a technical university. It shows the role and significance of oratory in the pedagogical activity of the faculty in a technical university.
